It's been a while since my last entry. But it does not mean that no progress was made. This time working on expanding my Indian Infantry contingent. Indians are mainly tons of archers. And some spearmen in front rank.
For now 4 bases ready, 4 more to come soon. Plus 2 bases of spearmen with 2 more to be completed in the future. Painting Guide below.
Indians make effect by their quantity rather than quality. Even as a part of Indo-Greek forces, Indian contingent is going to be siginificant so there is a lot of miniatures to paint. I decided for a bit simplistic approach, focusing on speed of painting more than quality of painting. I hope that it will be still ok once the entire TuG is fielded.
Here are some inspirations I found on the internet.
Painting Guide, all Vallejo paints unless stated otherwise, primed with white:
Body (I wanted to make it medium dark flesh with brownish tone. Nations of India have a huge variety of skin tones, I decided to use mild one as it fits more, in my opinion, to northern regions of peninsula):
Cork Brown --> Umbra Wash --> Cork Brown --> Iraqui Sand
Cloth (skirts)
Off-white --> Apothekary White (Citadel) --> Off-white --> white
Green details 1 (light)
Olive green --> Andalusian Earth (GS World) --> Olive Green --> Moonlight Yellow
Green details 2 (dark)
Flat Green --> Andalusian Earth (GS World) --> Olive Green --> Moonlight Yellow
Bamboo Bows / Spears
Bronze Fleshtone --> Sepia Wash --> Bronze Fleshtone --> Pale Sand
Quivers / Sword sheaths / Belts
Flat Brown --> Sepia Wash --> Flat Brown --> Flat Brown/Iraqui Sand --> Iraqui Sand
Arrow Feathers
Red Leather --> Umbra Wash
Red belts
Khador Red (P3)
Shields
Flat brown / Iraqui Sand / Bronze Fleshtone - mix of all colours one upon another in a random way - to make them as 'leatherish' as possible.
Metal elements (I intentionally resigned from any gold/bronze on the models)
Gunmetal (Army Painter) --> Black Wash --> Gunmetal
