It took me more than a year to prepare an army for Maximus, and it is still not completed. But with some proxy bases here and there I was finally able to have my first full scale battle. And the experience was awesome! My Bactrians faced the Mid Rep Romans. And the first turns were a serie of lost fights. The most painful was when Xystophoroi (4 bases) and Cataphracts (6 base unit!) were oblitered by 2 Tugs of Romans in a single round of melee... Fortunately Thureophoroi and Phalanx are so much more resilent than in Magna! Finally +1 to fight is not lost after the first casualty Man of the match title belongs to the Cretan Archers however. Romans assumed they can handle the shooting, even from behind, and go for the camp. Their surprise was of the highest degree once they were charged instead... and as it was the last TuG to break - Bactrians defended their ground. With high casualties, but still.
